Default 2001 Spopiler Question

I am looking ar a 2001 2.o Turbo and I cannot find out where to find the spoiler switch to activate manually. Can anyone help? At what speed will it activate automatically? Thanks.

Around 93MPH. If it is a 2.0 Turbo you probably don't have the spoiler either, unless that was added on to the 8 valve 2.0 with the turbo setup. If it is a 1.8T the switch is below the dash on the plastic panel above your legs.

2.0 turbo's weren't factory engines in 2001.

IF it's a 2.0 turbo from 2001, it was done after-market. Probably doesn't have a spoiler.

You should be able to see the 4" black piece at the top of the rear glass. If you see it; that started as a 1.8t.

The car does have the rear glas spoiler and the engine covers is 2.0 What year was the 2.0 available on the Beetle. Possibly the guy has the wrong year listed on the car.

That is not 2.0 .... it says 20 Valve Turbo, actually I think it is 20V Turbo, I have had a few Ricers think it was a 20 Volt Turbo ... like I would put that eBay electric supercharger in my car. There is no 2.0 Turbo Beetle ... the 2.0T is in the 06 GTI and GLI ... Only Beetle with a Turbo in new 06 body style is the Diesel. Take a picture of it and post it here. It it is a turbo engine, the cover will be all black plastic ... on the 2.0 or 2.slo Normally Aspirated engine the cover is black plastic but you can see the aluminum intake runners.

I may be wrong(not likely, I'm never wrong) But either it's a 2.0 no turbo OR 1.8t turbo. It's one or the other. Unless the turbo was added not by VW. Rear hatches can be switched easily enough. Run your hand under the steering wheel. If it's a turbo you will find the rocker switch about 8 or so inches below it.
Like he said, 20V (valves) But I have a 2001 and it says 1.8turbo. I don't know what years had that engine cover.

Lnz .... they changed it about 01.5 to 20V Turbo. I think it was the AWV Engines that had the 20V ... but there where probably a few of each engine type with the other cover during the transition ... I think PaulT's is one of them.

Ok thanks. Now I know mine was one of the last years for that cover since I have the old engine too.
