Question Rear spoiler

Hello everybody and sorry for the dumb questions

Do all 1.8T NBs have that retractable rear spoiler above the back window and traction control? Is there any possibility to activate that spoiler manually?

Also... Do all NBs have possibility to open trunk from outside?

I'm looking to buy NB for my girlfriend and found one with 1.8T and automatic transmision imported from USA so I'd like to know about it as much as possible...

Yes they all have auto spoilers.

Not all have traction control. 99's had none.

'00-'02? didn't have ESP, but they had ASR which is a traction control.

yes the spoiler can be manually articulated by a switch near the steering column, get out on the ground and look up at it; should be near where your left knee usually is.

What year was that 1.8t with an automatic transmission?

sorry - forgot to mention - the car is made in january of 2001

actually - it is this one:
http://auto.plius.lt/infoblokas/skel...eji&id=1586939

is has slight suspension and body damage but repair prices in my country are quite small so it isn't a problem.

Good good. I'm not sure if that's going to be an APH engine, or an AWV. I'm thinking AWV. that's good for you.

APH has smaller injectors and a smaller turbo. They're both 1.8t's with minor changes.

Nor is correct with the APH engine, which you might have looking at the cupholders ... are you sure it was built in January of 2001? My 2001 was built in Feburary of 2001 and I have all the mid year updates... making mine a 2001.5 that one that you linked to looks like a 2001 which is most likely an APH engine, which isn't the END of the world but good to know.

Best of luck to you with your Bug and the repairs if you decide to get it!

I've checked carfax - the car was buit in 2000 and was only sold in 2001.
Where can I check what engine it has got - APH or AWV?
