Now that I am working on my bug myself; I thought maybe a good idea to get one of these tools; a "Engine Support Bridge" VAG tool # 10-222A. Here is a link to one on the web:http://imagehost.vendio.com/a/176130..._TWAP5820X.jpg I would assume it would make things easier to work on; anyone bought one, know some prices, use one or have any brand or vendor recommendations? The next project after my timing belt will most likely be the clutch; does this tool make a big difference and is it worth it? The Bentley shows it being used for timing belt replacement, clutch r/r and front axle removal. Maybe its possible to make one..? :-) Any info would be appreciated!

I think most here reccomend Rosstech for the vag-com. Look them up.

Yes, but can you support your engine with a laptop

I've never used one, personally.

I've never used one either. I can see it making a clutch r&r easier though. Currently for a clutch job, I use 3 floor jacks. 1 under the motor, 1 under the front differential, and 1 under the transmission.

Hmmm. Actually, I think the only thing the engine bridge there would do is eliminate 1 of the jacks, not a big difference imo.

Huge if you're working on a lift system I bet.

X10! Vag-com is 100 times more useful in the long run.

you also need to support the engine (partially) if you change the timing belt and such, but I did that with my floor jack.
