they should be pre-gapped; no need to change them.

You can easily ruin an iridium plug by gapping it. Don't mess with 'em.

I used a pair of pliers to gap the electrode on my plugs and it worked fine; just be careful as the plugs are delicate! Good luck!

yeah, well after a couple dozen tune ups with the gaps always being spot on, I'm not too worried about it anymore.

My BKR6E's came pre-gapped at .032 also. Always good to check tho. 1st time for me today, it was fun to work under the rain tray!
The ones I pulled were the originals, at 85,000 miles! They still had a tiny bit of electrode left!
Otherwise, clean enough and the right color, too. I'm impressed!

I pulled my plugs at 40,000 miles and they were toast! No visible electrode left. No wonder it felt like I picked up 75hp after my 40,000 mile service. I probably did.

40K on your plugs? jeebus. unless they were iridium, that's way too long.

I change mine once a year.

They were iridium and that was Volkswagens recommended interval. It is part of the 40,000 mile service. I'm now changing my iridium plugs every 20,000 miles. The increased boost etc must be eating my plugs early.

I kept mine, I'll have to get a pic up tomorrow. They do look good! For such a long service life. Maybe they were changed at the 40k after all???
