Default custom DV from ebay works great!

Here's the lowdown for the Ebay DV replacement I got. It's almost identical to the Forge 007 and is made from VERY high quality parts. The piston did need to be cycled as it was a tight fit from the factory. The top section where the vacuum line plugs in is threaded and it spins off to expose the spring, which is also good quality. The piston itself was turned from aluminum and the housing was machined out perfectly from a single piece of metal. Dual seals for the piston, plus a third O-ring at the top to seal the top section complete the package. The difference in opening over stock is obvious once you push in the piston from the bottom. The paint looks like it's been powdercoated black, but I didn't try scratching it off to test! Just a really nice part for half or less the price of the forge. I am NOT affiliated with the company that sells them either! Just a satisfied customer. Bought their VAG-COM cable too but still haven't tried it out yet. Shipping for both items took 1 week, via USPS. Packing was not great at all, just bagged in the priority bag.
Otherwise the DV does it's job... I can tell that my part-throttle boost drop is now gone, and the turbo has more grunt since the old DV was weak in the spring and was letting boost cycle around the turbo, making it work harder to provide the requested boost. A more responsive drive now, and just feels more "on par" than b4!!

nice.... I wish I had known you were looking for a new DV, I have 3 of them sitting in a box... I would have let you have one for the cost of shipping.... A Forge DVR, a Turbo XS (I think) and a stock 710N... oh well

Nah, I'm not that mean.
If I had known, I would have gone for a Forge from you. Did you try selling them on the Tex?

not really looking to sell them... I tend to hold on to parts just in case I or someone else needs them... then once a year or so I'll sell off what I don't need or want anymore...

I had a Turbo XS but got rid of it (refund) because it didn't work well, I still have a 710N valve, that was in the car for a short while until the piston started sticking, that valve has been sitting on a shelf for quite awhile now, I haven't gotten around to tossing it yet.

I would not recommend either of those DV's.

I would be interested in that forge, only to see if that's one of my problems. I really don't want to buy a DV if mine really is still good. How much to ship to 60004?

Shipping is what is listed on the site. Expect to pay just over $60 for it. I'm not the seller... Just a happy customer!
PS: I've been reading your trials with your NB and the acceleration problem might be due to your DV staying open when it shouldn't or not sealing right at the outlet that goes into the TIP near the MAF. You can remove it and take a look at the seal, try blowing through, apply vacuum to the line to test it, etc. Get your hubby off his rear and have him help! You can PM me if you want specifics of what to test and how.

He's sick with the flu now. I'll look in the book to see if I can do this. Thanks
