Question Noisy belt

I was wondering if anyone would know why my belts sounds a little noisy when running? I took it in to the dealership and they fixed a leack near the belt but am not sure it should be making any sound. Please help

thaks

If you can see down there, look for the pulleys and find out if one of them has the belt on it wrong. Keep the car off at first, and check the belt itself out too. If it wasn't replaced, and some liquids got onto it, it could be slipping. But if the belt is off one of the pulleys a little, it could be a very bad thing. They are easy to change, all you need is a 16mm wrench on top of the square part of the tensioner, and release tension. You can also check the belt when the engine is running, but please don't put any fingers or hanging clothes near the belt area!!! You would be looking for any place the belt isn't smoothly moving in this case.
Good luck!
EDIT: if you use your AC try to turn it off and see if that makes a difference. Just noticed you are in Nevada. AC compressor could also be going bad, don't know how common this is on a VW.

On my winter beater the belt gets squeaky every 5 or 6 months and I just give it a little squirt of belt dressing and that keeps it quiet for a long time.

I know it's just a band-aid but it will fix the noise for the time being.
