Default eurosport intake?

any opinions on this intake? just traded some old RC crap for one plus some cash. looks like the neuspeed P-Flo intake but with a foam filter(going to replace with a K&N).

It's much better than the P-flo. It has a much improved heat sheild. The sheilding covers the bottom, and the sides, and reaches up to the hood on the top side.

It's one of the best intakes you can get for a beetle imo.

Good job. Andy sorry to hear about the R/C stuff going out. ;p

i was going to pt a bit of oil on it an install it on the car untill i can get the cash for the K&N. the only issue is that the filter element is kinda flakey... the guy ran tit like 500 miles and then sold the car. nover oiled the filter or anything so it may have dry-rotted a bit. if you think ittl be useful a new one eurosport is like 35.00 or something. make an offer if ya want it. no paypal account so money orders are all i can accept.

With the turbo models the heat shield is eye candy for the most part, the open air style intake systems like the P-flo are only as good as the filter and amount of air they will allow to reach the turbo inlet.

As discussed countless times across many threads, the cooling of the air is important on the high pressure side of the turbo and not on the intake side, the concern on the air air intake side of the turbo is, volume/flow.

My previous post was just a description of function, not a criticism of your purchase.

This style setup can be very advantageous...

Both that filter and the version that I use fit my P-flo, I don't know if there are any design differences on your intake that would cause it not to clear anything.

I can only recommend that you do what I did, take measurements of the available space with-in your intake and compare that to the dimensions listed on the K&N website for the filter in question.

it will fit! also, my GF made a funny comment earlier today. i was behind some grandma doing like 30 in 3rd gear and eased off the throttle. well it made that kinda fluttering sound(normal at part throttle, at full boost its a nice clean PSHT!) and i stepped on it to pass her and eased off again and the sound happened again only louder. well bre made the following comment and i quote

"hey, whats that sound?? sounds like a dragon growling... kinda scarry... really cool but scarry. that poor grandma, she just got eaten by a dragon. if only she knew..."

i almoast had to stop the car to breathe! so my car is now called "growling dragon, digesting grandma"....
