yeah, synthetic can be expensive at places like that. You might be able to bring your own oil as well. Just pick some Mobil 1 up at Costco. A buddy of mine used to manage a JL so they would do it for free if I brought the oil and filter, but I think there is a service charge otherwise.

When I dont have the time to change my own oil I take it to a local VW dealer that I have developed a decent releationship with.I bring my own oil and filter and they change it for 10.00 + shop supplies + tax for a total of abot 14.50. I buy the filter in bulk and look for deals on the oil.

You might try to calling a local VW dealership or a local indy shop to see what they charge if you bring your own oil/filter or at least your own oil.
