Whats involved with upgrading the standard 1.8 turbo from 150hp to 180hp like the Turbo S has?

A Revo chip for a Turbo S goes from 180 HP and 180ft/lb torque, to 207 HP and 232ft/lb torque.

A "regular" 150HP turbo jumps to the same numbers after Revo chipping.

APR also has a chip program that works well.

I can not verify any of these as my Turbo S is not chipped.

So is there no mechanical difference between the two engines? Sounds like the S has a pre-tuned engine and the 6 speed of course.

The Turbo S has a K03 Sport turbo, whereas the 150HP turbos have only a K03 turbo.

Here is a short thread talking about the differences: 1.8T vs. Turbo S

That's only true for the APH 1.8ts. All other NB 1.8t vehicles have the K03 Sport.

True. This bad info seems to be very persistant doesn't it?

The APH has the KO3, while the AWV and AWP both have the KO3S.
