Default valves

ive got a 100,000 miles and was wondering if anyone else can hear there valves ticking and i took my valve cover of today to replace the gasket y is there two plastic covers over one cam

also replaced my axle today but like any other diyer im second thinking everything i did i torqued everything and used locktite so hopefully i should be good just really parinoid

also installed the forge tip the other day dont know y everyone says its hard took me 20 min to pull the old out and put new in

bigest problem i had was the bootom vaccum line so i just took it off and put it on before i put the tip in the engine bay but well worth the effort

also when i go over speed bumpo i hear a noise like a knock noise from my passanger strut area

woah, periods man!

cant really help with anything but the sound... you could have either a worn out strut, a broken spring, or a loose strut mount. but i could still be wrong.

The ticking sound you hear at idle are most likely the injectors. For some reason, that is a trait of the 1.8T engine.

The axle is totally up to you. As long as you torqued everything to spec you should be fine.

You got away lucky with the TIP. I hear more people talk about their ordeal with their TIP than their quick install.

The knock is probably a worn strut tower mount. Have them replaced. I had the same thing about a year ago and I did the strut tower mounts, LCA bushings, and balljoints put in all at once. If your car has over 100K, and you don't have maintenance records, I would have those bits replaced.

And if you don't learn how to form a coherent paragraph, I will start a petition to ban you

Default took it apart

took me ten min to pull the axle out (fast huh lol)

the inner cv joint broke guess when the rebuilt it the spline where the bearing go was a lil worn.

so when they put the new joint it just skipped over on that last run and shatered everything in the joint.

all is well though just gotta wait for them to find a new axle and rebuild it then ill be back out there

Raxles.com makes some nice looking hardware.

If you'd rather by my used axles at some double-digit fraction of the cost on the raxles; let me know, we could work something out.

I've been wanting to upgrade and the beetle's down for a few weeks.
