Default Which Chip?

I know this has been asked probably more than a few times. What chip would you consider the best? I've checked all the websites, and of course they're going to say theirs is best, but in the real world how would you rate them?

What engine would I have, it's an '01 1.8T. Is this one of the better ones to begin with? Sorry for all the ???, but this electronic tuning stuff is all new to me, I'm old skool, and learning still.

I'm going with APR. ECSTuning.com does it where the cost includes 1-day shipping to them, the chipping and 1-day shipped back to you. So if there's not a chipper near you, you might want to consider them.

Why do you have to go to a company to have your car chipped? Cant they just sell you a program and a cable for your laptop? I guess they make more money this way though.

I think they don't want to general public having access to the tools and software so they don't sell it themselves! Software piracy would be super easy here, no need to "activate" the flash online like windows XP or vista!

No...I currently have APR stage 3+ with all programs.
My 2000 GLX had the Autothority chip -I loved it, too. When I traded that car in, the chip was the only thing left stock -someone got a good deal.

No pics yet Al -hold your water, lad.
