A/C problems

This is related to the previous post, but I need specific info here...

I read on another forum that there is an A/C relay underneath the battery tray. Right now, my A/C compressor is not working. I don't know if any electrical is getting to it. Someone told me to hotwire it to the battery to see if the compressor even turns on, but I would not even know where to begin to do that!!

I am a technical geek, but that is mostly when it comes to computers. I have to have my Haynes spell things out for me step by step, including what tools to get!!

Does anyone know where the relay can be found underneath the tray AND how to test these things?

I probably just need to take it to Eurocars in Jackson, but I just want to do as much as I can myself.

I need to add that I have already checked both the battery terminal fuses and the main fuse panel. All is ok there. The terminal fuse box was replaced at the dealer in January.
