Default ...so...on a scale of 1-10 how bad of a problem is this?

I noticed that my collant has been running low pretty quick latley (having to refill it every week or so) but I kind of ignored it.

well my battery died and I bought a new one. When I took the old battery out, I can see a little compartment of gelatenous pink collant that has caked in the upper right (facing the engine)

so:

1. how much is it going to cost to fix it?
2. can it potentially do long term damage? The car runs fine, the odd thing is, I guess its not leaking too bad because I haven't notived any dripping where I normally park......

Not enough information to diag.

Fix your leak. it could cost you a motor if you just try to keep up w/it. cheper to fix it up front.

I don't exactly get where you found this coolant goo. In the battery tray?

well, if you take the battery out, the collant has managed to gelatinize in a little space behind the battery compartment. You can't see it when th battery is in.

I really don't feel like going through the hassle of taking the battery out again to take pics (unnecessarily difficult to mess with) so i'm just going to take it to the dealer.
