Default Turn signal/hazards blink module lifespan..?

Hi guys,

About a year ago I replaced the turn signal/hazard blinker module on my 2002 NBTS, and it's gone bad again. The last one wouldn't blink when it was supposed to; I had to poke the turn signal arm up & down to make theem blink. Now this one blinks randomly all the time, even when the signal or hazards are not on. When they are on, it blinks steady as it's supposed to, but when I'm just driving along, it clicks randomly - sometimes really fast, sometimes really slow, sometimes not at all.

So... I have to ask: are these things junk or what? Or did I just get two bad ones in a row?

Thanks.

LOL ... Ive replaced mine too ... about 2 years ago. Just started failing again this last weekend. I thought it was due to the uber cold we have been getting. And, it is always the left turn signal (even on my sisters 2002)

Well at least I've done it before; shouldn't take me longer than 15 mins this time. I've heard that VW has really sucky electrical systems and components, and I've seen nothing to refute that yet. My favorite so far was when my instrument cluster went dead a few times, and would only reset after the ignition was turned off/on.
