Speedo Dont Work
so i went out to my car yesterday and all of a sudden the speedo dont work and im getting hard shifts. the speed sensor i think is plugged in. i checked what i thought was it today but i could be wrong. it was behind the SAI pump and went under towards the oil filter into the tranny. heard someone else on here say there car wouldnt start when it was bad. tach and gas still work. is it a bad cluster? anyone ever experience this. oh yeah and my tripometer went back to zero when it happened. i thought that was odd.

Sounds like a bad gauge cluster.

thats what i thought. i might pull it out and check connections in the back. it showed no signs of being bad. it worked when i parked it and stopped when i got back in. and no new check engine light that i know of just my old one. so maybe i will have it run again first. i heard the speed sensor throws a code but it would at least flash i would think.

anyone know if i can switch just the speedo without doing the whole cluster? i have to have a dealer do the whole cluster but i could do the speedo without a vag right?
