Not ot be a smartass or anything, but i think the best grounding place in the engine bay would be the negative battery terminal.

and not to be an even bigger smartass but couldn't you drill a hole in any of the metal thats in there and use that as a ground(with help of a well placed bolt)? or use any of the existing grounds in there

The battery is grounded to a bolt on the top of the transmission (that holds the transmission to the engine block). Just follow the negative cable.

You could put a big eyelet on whatever you're trying to ground and attach at the same place the battery is grounded.

actualy the ground id on the chassie..... that one on the tranny is the engine ground haha... its just all one big wire...
