Talking Possible Upgrade: 2.0 Auto to a 2002 Turbo S 6 speed.

This is the dealer that sold me my present cyber green 2.0 auto. He now has 3 NB's in his lot. After posting my NB on his website, he's had a lot of demand for NB's. He is selling his wife's NB (2.0 5sp) that she's been driving for the past few years and another one (2.0 5sp) that smells like my old sneakers.
He also has this rare gem I've never seen since being a NB owner: 2002 VW Beetle Turbo warranty air cd leather. Yeah, it's got the 2-tone leather, 6 sp, the aluminum accents, 17" wheels, Monsoon, and the 20V 180hp.
It has 73000 mi. There has already been an offer made on it but hasn't gone through yet, but I'll know in a couple of days.
Wish me luck

Wow. $9900 is a lot of coin for a 2002 with that kind of mileage.I think 6 or 7 thousand seems more like a fair price. Good luck on the deal. If you get, it your gonna love it.

Depends I guess on who's buying it. How much are you will to spend on a car that is hard to find and don't make anymore.

Yeah, price is excessive, i was loking at some in the 40-60,000 mile range for that price 3 years ago.

Good luck on this deal and I hope things fall your way. You obviously have the Turbo S bug. If by some misfortune, this deal doesn't work for you, keep looking. If you are lucky enough to buy a TS locally, you are lucky indeed. Lots of folks end up traveling a long way to get the one that picks them. Bottom line is, if you have the bug for a TS....get one. It will give you more fun than you can ever imagine.

Yeah, price seems a bit high, but guys, don't forget he is in Canada--don't know the exchange rate right now, or other factors, but it might be right for his area? If this was in the PNW for example it wouldn't be far off a fair price...

Good luck Bender--that's a night and day upgrade!

I looked over it being CAD, he said it was mileage rather than kilometers.

If it's CAD, it sounds reasonable for being a dealership car.

Thanks for all the replies and input. Yes, I live in Canada, and things are higher in "Canuck Bucks".
I was able to negotiate a good deal on my 2.0 auto, and I'm sure he will be flexible on this one too.
My present beetle runs perfect @ 78,000 miles but just wondering about the future of the auto transmission.
I'll keep you posted.
Cheers!

I brought my camera with me to the dealer to make an offer on the Turbo S and saw this:

Apparently, it went for full price to a guy for his girlfriend.
I'll be looking around for another NB one of these days.
Anyone here know of any loaded sugar-momma cougars that need a pool boy??
Cheers.
