Default Catalytic converter

Hello,

Got CODE P0420. Is there any immediate mechanical reason to get this corrected? Can this damage the car or seriously degrade its performance?

Thanks,

Rich

Could degrade performance eventually.
Probably will cause problems w/your rear O2 sensor if left as is.

Worst part is probably the fact that the CEL will give you a false sense of security and when a REAL threat comes along, you'll have no advanced warning.
