Default Newbee-Thanks!

Hey gang, long time lurker, thought I'd take the plunge. Just wanted to say thanks for all you've taught me thus far. That said, a little history and a couple of question. The FW has a 2001 1.8T, this was a learning experience for me wrench wise for sure. Anyways, I've been learning as I go, did the T belt a while back, just did the cam chain tensioner due to upper valve train noise that was not fixed after cleaning the oil pick up tube and such (the new tensioner fixed that!). Anyways, I noticed that there seems to be positive air pressure in the cam case, if I hold my hand over the oil fill hole I can feel it. Is this normal? I checked vacuum lines and the suction pump fitting, in fact I ordered a new suction pump from ecs just now. Just curious thoughts on this?

Now the million dollar question #2. The FW has been complaining about a loss of power while running at highway speeds, I love her but I really thought she was nuts until I was in the car when it happened. Like a switch flipped, nothing for a couple seconds, then power resumes no problem. I happens so quick and corrects so quick that I could not tell if dash lights went out or not. No codes.

Thanks again for all your help, great site that I'm happy to finally be a part of!

CZ
