Is there a site you can research information on the Turbo S models? I believe they were only produced for the 2002, 2003 and 2004 model years and I'm looking for additional info. on them.
Thanks, David |

There's lots of good information on this site. Most of the 1.8t information also applies to the TS. There are some unique things about the TS, but this site is a good source of info for that too. I think the Turbo S can be thought of as a regular 1.8t with a higher compression ratio, leather, and all the other bells and whistles. If you have specific questions, just ask them here and there are lots of people to help.

You got that right. If you want one, buy one. You won't regret it.

I want to know production numbers. I know in 2002 there were 5000 made. But was that the same for all years? Was it broke down to 1250 per color? What were the 2003 and 2004 numbers?
I tend to see Silver & Plat Grey more than red or black. Black seems to be the rare color.

[QUOTE=Beetlecup;647390]VWVortex First Drive - The New Beetle Turbo S
"On the highway, the added sixth gear helped reduce RPMs to just under 2800 rpm at 80mph (as opposed to 3500 rpm on current 5-speed cars)." In the article he states 2800rpm at 80? any one else with a TS getting that? When I'm at 80 my RPM is at 3100. Last edited by Beetlecup; 05-05-2010 at 12:49 AM.. |

I wonder how accurate that article really is.
I know my tires are bigger than they need to be, 225 on a 7" wide rim. But I wouldn't think that would effect that speedo or RPM's much at all. Which was my first thought. |
