Is there a way to turn up the boost on a stock turbo in a 2000 1.8?

Yep! First place to start would be an ECU "chip" for $300-$600 and those increase stock boost from 10-11lbs to about 18-19lbs if i remember correctly.

The difference is usually between 35-65hp gain and 35-80lbs-ft depending on which you get and how much you spend. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for
