I'm considering changing the pulleys on my ride. Should I go with the ECS pulleys that come with the timing belt kit or should I go with the pulley wheels from Neuspeed?

Whatever you do make sure to leave the crank pulley stock.

Really? Why is that? The crank pulley wheel comes in both kits.

Because the crank pulley is a harmonic damper / balancer for the crank. Putting a lightweight pulley on the crank is kind of the same idea as taking all the wheel weights off your rims and then going for a rip down the highway. Honestly I think lightweight / underdriven pulleys are a waste of money.

Hmm... Thanks for the advice! I wasn't aware of that. I appreciate it! May not even bother with them at all now.

Yeah I wouldn't. Take a look at the build threads of some of the really fast 1.8T big turbo cars. I haven't seen anyone using them yet. Take the money and set it aside to go towards a turbo upgrade or a chip if you don't already have one. There are tons of bolt-on parts like downpipes and turbo inlet pipes, intercoolers, etc that would deliver more performance for the buck.

All of which are in my "plans to do" for my little red machine or Punch Buggy (as my daughter calls it). Nothing like being underestimated out on the street!
