Default location of secondary air injection solenoid valve?

Facing the front of the car (2002 1.8 L turbo Sport), is the secondary air injection solenoid valve in the middle on top of the engine or all the way to the far left?

Thanks,

Rich

Just follow the tube the goes from the SAP to the cylinder head and when you get to the head you have found it.

Thanks, but one tube goes from the air pump to the air box and one goes to the combo valve (EGR) valve. The solenoid is on top somewhere. There are 2 possibilities, as I said, but I'm not sure which one is it.

Ok, I believe that I know what you are looking for, just did not realize the 1.8T had one. Is your engine an APH, AWV or AWP?

Here is an APH cylinder head pic of the SAP hose (#1) and EGR valve; now just behind at the top and to the right of the EGR valve there is a vaccum hose follow it. That should lead you to what you are looking for.

Thanks, again. My engine is an AWV and your photo confirms what I thought...the solenoid is on the far left side on top of the cylinder head cover.

Sincerely,

Rich
