That's about how it's been running for me too. Maybe a little less when I drive it a little harder.

EPA fuel rating

A bit surprised to see that the turbo does 1 mpg better in the city over the 2.0.

In comparison, my other car a 1999 Saturn SL with a 1.9L(DOHC) engine and an automatic transmission is rated at 124 hp and has 166k miles> I have seen as high as 39 mpg Hwy and the worse mixed city/highway I have gotten was 26 mpg. Right now according to my fuel log, I am averaging 34 MPG. IMO, GM built a pretty awesome engine for the Saturn SL. The only thing I ever had to do to the engine was change the plugs and at 155k miles, the water pump.

I like the EPA rating that gives what actual drivers are reporting.

I'm not too shocked that the rating is 1mpg higher for the turbo...the turbo helps the engine work a bit more efficiently, but the added power cancels some of that out.

Real world is much different than the ratings. The only time I've seen 21mpg city in my car is when I had a dead O2 sensor. I average 23-24mpg city in my 2.0. Gotten as high as 37 highway, usually 31. I got 31, almost 32mpg going to H2O. That was driving there (70-80 most of the way), driving around Ocean City all weekend, and then got gas on the way home. I'm not going to complain about the fuel economy

I´m surprised TBH, most turbo street cars spend most of their time off-boost. Of course a NA car is spending its time on either light throttle (poor efficiency) or acceleration so maybe they cancel out
