Question Does it sound a battery problem to you?

Hi guys,
Merry Christmas. I received quite a help from you in the past, and saved me a lot of money. I hope you guys could help me too this time.

Recently I had a problem with my battery, I guess? It won't start in one cold morning, and I had it jump started. Run highway for about half an hour. The car then started fine the next day, and the past week. But this morning after it stopped there for one day and one night, I had a really hard time to get it work -- it took 2 or 3 seconds before the engine started to crank, I heard the clicks (starter working?), but engine didn't crank within that 2,3 seconds. It seems to me the battery power is not enough to spark the engine?

Maybe there is a power leaking somewhere, or should I simply replace the battery? I locked my car every time when I left.

Please let me know what you guys will do/suggest in such situation.
Thanks in advance.
By the way, does 2001 1.8T bug uses group 35 rather than 49 (this is the one in my bug right now)?

Sounds like a bad cell in the battery. You can test the system for a drain (their is always some load on the battery, i.e. the security system, or you can have the battery tested. Most places that sell batteries, i.e. Sears, will pull the battery, or disconnect it, bring it to full charge, and the put a tester on it, for free. Best to do it where your going to buy the new battery, so when they tell you it's bad, you don't have to thank them and explain your going to buy the new one elsewhere though. (lol)
