What could be the problem?

I have several things that I need to have repaired on my NB. But I was wondering about one thing. I noticed my engine is making noise like a rattling sound. I can hear it when I am sitting at a light or drive thru. Also I noticed that when I start my car in the morning it seems as though it loses power and my interior lights dim for a brief moment. I also notice that my headlights dim alot. It used to do it every once in a while, but now it happens constantly. I recently had my battery changed (aftermarket battery from AutoZone). Also my car is very sluggish and it seems as though my car can't speed up very well. I know I need to take my car in to VW, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what this might be. I don't think its my battery, but I could be wrong if they didn't put it in properly. What would cause such a loss of power? Any advice or info would be appreciated.

Sounds like a couple of different problems to me. Let me know what you find out about the "rattle", mine is doing it too. Maybe your alternator is going out...that would cause the dim lights. As far as the loss of power: Could be fuel filter, N75 valve, diverter valve, etc etc...Have your dealer run a diagnostic...
