Can someone tell me where I can purchase this little jewel to push back the caliper's piston?

you can buy a vw specific one at most parts places online (ecs, germanautoparts, etc), or you can go to your local harbor freight and get a much cheaper kit that will do the same thing for like $15 or so.

I've had the harbor freight one for a few years and its been good enough for me.

Its a great tool and works much better than the el-cheapo universal Chinesium ones that Harbor Freight sells. I'll gladly pay a little more for a quality tool made by an American small business.

No need to purchase it. Autozone will rent it as a tool for FREE. You don't even have to buy your brake parts from them although I did buy some hand cleaner so I wouldn't feel too bad.

I think that tool is also known as a C-clamp.

In this case, the caliper piston must be turned like a corkscrew while exerting downpressure to push the piston in, unfortunately a C clamp doesn't work so well in this event. Usually, the tool shown will be used on rear brakes, which require the piston to be able to be ratcheted up for use of the emergency brake.
