Default How to replace the Pollen Filter

I may be just stupid, but I have purchased the new filter media and cannot figure out where to replace the old one. Can someone give me a how to on where to locate the filter unit so I can replace it. It needs it, I have super funky smell coming from the air system.

Also, another question. The inside of my bug smells identical to the smell of a box of crayons. I have leather interior and have heard that others have this same scent. Any ideas?

Thanks!

The cabin filter is under the front dash cover. The smell of crayons is a waxlike sealer that VW used as a rust preventive sealer. If you do a search on cabin filter and crayon you will find more info.

Remove the center dash cover by pushing it forward and popping it up.
Remove the right dash cover by prying it up.
Under it will be a panel with a bunch of torx screws. Remove those.
The filter will be under there. Release the two clips on the side closest to the rear of the car and lift up.
