Battery Change & ECU.
When replacing the battery should you use a trickle battery in the cig lighter? I don't care about the radio code or stations, I can always put that back. But my question is the ECU. Will disconnecting the battery cause the ECU go into a relearning mode?

I had no problems when I replaced the battery in my '99.

I've heard rumors, but if this is the case, I think the ECU is designed to do it's own relearning. The only printed matter (VW) I've ever read is the potential for needing to reset the radio, and the windows. Wonder what the Bentley says?
