Electrical Problems! Fuse box?

I have a 2000 Volkswagen Beetle 1.8L turbo. I bought it back in March,as is from a car lot. After driving it for a few weeks. My check engine light went on. my rear breaks went out. My clutch went out. My Air Conditioner stopped working.Well I took it back to the dealership about the check engine light and they cleared the code and turned the light off without telling me what was wrong...Now jumping to a month ago I shut my car door and my car locked itself and turned the alarm on. Then the buttons on my key stopped working. Thinking it was the battery that died in the key I replaced it and still it wouldn't work. So I decided to just unlock my car manually with hopes the alarm wouldn't go off. I started my car and the alarm went off. It wouldn't stop until I disconnected the battery. I messed with my car trying to get it so the alarm wouldn't go off.
One thing I found was if I unplugged one of the fuses by my door. It turned my alarm off. But now with taking that fuse out my windows,sunroof, alarm, cigarette lighters and other things wont work.
Whenever I put the fuse back in the alarm just keeps going off and the other items will work.
I looked under my hood and noticed the fuse box above the battery was fried. The fuses in it were fried to the box. The wires were burnt and coroted. I'm not sure if that's what's causing my electrical problems. But my biggest fear is that it's my computer in the car! could it be the fuse box?

Changed the box .
Everything fine now just keep an eye on the fuse contacts for corrosion.

Im glad to hear that what's gonna fix the problem. I'm on a tight budget and still need to fix my clutch and other things on it.

The wire from the alternator to the Fuse box is of poor quality. That's what fried the box in the first place. Change the fuse box and also the wire going to the alternator and you should be okay.

Clutches are easy to replace. Get a clutch kit for about 350 bucks and do it yourself. Lots of DIY's floating around.
