Unhappy car problem . :( help...

wok so i go out to start my 2000 vw beetle and it makes a weird noise... then i drive it and it sounds weird. like weird road noise? i dunno if it is the muffler? or something else?
the car possibly vibrates too?? im like wtf is going on? any ideas on what could be wrong?
i have no money right now, i am saving up to fix both windows, get an oil change and timing belt and water pump done. i dont have money for anything else to go wrong. makes me want to cry. i cant handle this. what do i do? so sad...
when i go from park to drive it might sound different. im going outside now to check it out .
OK, we drove around and eventually the problem went away. so something like snow may have been stuck somewhere or who knows what the problem was but i hope it is fine now. it stopped the noise. i think its good now. thank god. phew..
ill go check the car again to see if the noise is still gone. i do plan to get a transmission flush as soon as i can afford to do it. how much does a transmission flush cost?? I got this car used from a dealership and have no idea what has been done to it, so i'm slowly fixing things.
I CHECKED THE CAR AGAIN AND IT IS FINE.

Describe the noise more. Does it seem to change with rpms? Does it ever stop?

Kinda sounds like they had snow/ice packed in somewhere and it made some noise

How long ago did you change your transmission fluid? You did say the sound changed when you shifted from Park to Drive. That tells me it was doing this sound without even moving. So that lets me believe there could be issues with your transmission. Have it checked right away. If there is a leak or the fluid is low you can burn up that already very weak automatic transmission in no time. Don't be fooled that the noise magically went away. I bet after you let it sit overnight (regardless if there is snow or not) and you start it again in the morning the noise will more than likely be back. A new transmission for that car will cost more than what you paid for it. So have it checked ASAP.

Default bad beetle

Don't mean to disourage you, but these beetles have all sorts of problems. I have been constantly fixing mine for the past three years and it seems I can't gain any ground on it everytime I fix something another problem comes along.IMO These cars are for folks that enjoy working on their cars and DIY repairs. it's become my hobby now to work on my cars every weekend. If I were you I would get the timing belt/water pump done by your local mechanic asap before you lose the whole engine. Good luck missy.......
