Default Coolant Pipe Failure

I had a coolant leak show up this past week. I pulled the metal pipe off and found a good couple of hole rusted through. I might be able to weld it, but I would rather replace the whole thing. It's about 2ft long and a 90* bend on each end.

I have no clue where to find the pipe. I might have a better chance of finding used, but I would rather have new and both new hoses on either end.

Does anyone know where to find this peice? I searched ebay and ecs tuning and both had nothing.

My car is an '01 GLX 5speed. Thank you very much.

Try "VW Parts" - "Volkswagen Parts" - Parts and Accessories Catalog.

Maybe #22?

Are there any part #'s on the pipe? Considoring the high price of genuine VW parts; you might take the pipe to radiator or hydraulics shop and have the them fabricate one for you; mabye save some dough, just a thought.

Quite common issue. There were a few threads discussing it several years ago. I had to replace it on my '03 TS and I replaced it on another member's '00 GLX. I recall that the part set me back $36 from VW. There is a part number stamped on it on the piece of flat metal that keeps it from turning in the 2 straps that hold it in place.

The VW part number is 1C0 121 065

The last one I bought cost about $50.00 at the dealer.
You can mail order them cheaper but in the end it will cost you the same when they add in the shipping and handling charges.

look at this link for pictures and info:

I tried to have mine welded, but the metal is to thin, all it did was melt away.

I did find a replacement in the junkyard.

Thank you for all the help. I more or less just made my own out of some spare aluminum tubing. It's not exactly the same, but it works. I would like to replace it with an oem vw part. But I need to get to work right now.

Thanks again.
