Question Good Mechanic Needed

Well I get Zeus back tomorrow from the car lot I bought it from (2005 1.8T 5 speed) and I am going to have my own mechanic look it over head to toe and do diagnostics on it to give it a clean bill of health for my own peace of mind. I found a guy here in Austin a good reputation (Roscoes VW Audi and Volvo). For 60 bucks he will come to my place with his mobile van and do all the testing. when I spoke with him on the phone, he was very Knowledgeable about the car and named all the little and big issues the beetle normally has. So for now I am going with him, but am open to any other suggestion and recommendations for someone here in Austin Tx. BTW I am going in withdrawals from my little turbo buddy the last few days as the car lot is fixing my spoiler motor, window switches, ect.

cheers

This is a good list: https://docs.google.com/document/pre...IFdtHnEQ&pli=1

Its made for TDI owners but many shops will also work on gassers.

If MORAV would ever return, he's in TX and could probably point you in the right direction of somewhere as well, but he hasn't been around in awhile

I have E-Mailed Roger several times and also sent several PMs here on the ORG but have not received any reply. I am kinda worried that something might have happened to him. I know he went on a trip/vacation just before New Years but Unless he took a vow of silence with some Monks then he is way overdue.
I am worried that something might have happened to him It's not like him to totally call it quits and ignore us for eternity. Hopefully he is alright and will surface sometime soon!

Remember the Stephen King movie "Christine" ? Sometimes I swear my old air cooled bug started getting to me like that. I hope our fellow orger is OK though.

Corvettes have that kind of allure... Every time I drive my dads I am tempted to just keep going and never look back.
