Default Diverter question

Does the stock 2002 NB TS have the 710N diverter valve? Mine is Bosch but I cant see the other side of it. Just has a 040 in a circle on the side that faces me. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

If it does have the 710N it wouldn't be the stock Valve since I don't think it was out yet in 2002. But it could have been swapped out at one point.
Here is a link to ECS tuning Bosch 710.

Is the 710 throttle response better than the stock TS diverter?

Not really. The diverter valve doesn't do anything in regards to throttle response. It either works or it doesn't. The 710N is just a bit more durable and can easily be used along with higher boost as with a Tune or chip. The stock valve is known to fail shortly after a tune has been performed on the car.

For slightly better boost and low end performance you can get a N75 Race Valve. It will hold boost longer and on average will spike about 3psi higher than stock. I am using one in conjunction with my REVO Stage1 tune and it works really well.
