Default misfire issue

hello all,

I have an issue with my 00 beetle 1.8t 5 speed. It started to misfire yesterday on my way back to work. I got two codes out of it p301, p303 which is misfire on cylinder 1 and 3. I have changed the plugs and switched the coils around to see if the coils where bad. what I mean by that is #1 coils went to number 2 and #3 coils went to #4. I started it up and then still got the same codes misfire on cylinder 1 and 3. I am using ngk pfq6r (recommended by vw) spark plugs. does anyone have any ideas on what it could be.

Did you gap the plugs correctly? How is the coil wiring?

Did you unplug the battery before you changed the coils around?

Did you see any oil at all in the plugs well?
The last time I had a misfire was because oil was leaking into the spark plug well and causing problems with 2 or 3 plugs. i just had to replace the valve cover gasket, no problems ever since. good luck man.

Why would you need to unplug the battery? Just did the spark plugs on my GTI a few weeks ago...no unplugging of the battery and everything was just fine.
