2002 new beetle turbo s with 02m 6 speed trans:
I'm almost embarrassed to ask this question but its been forever since I've put my beetle back together! Getting the starter in: trying to figure out the sequence and position of the cables and where/how they connect. I'm exhausted and need some help! ![]() I'm trying to figure out where and how the two terminals connects to (I assume the top top on the starter): 1. terminal large flat with bend 2. terminal with "u" shape; (locking tabs or positioning locking?) 3. (2) nuts 4. positive terminal plastic cover (clips on large flat terminal I've installed these with different sequences and can't seem to find one that they all work together well with and give clearance for the push on connector to the right of the terminal post. (e.g.: u shaped terminal first oriented down, nut, flat terminal angled down, nut , cover etc.) Any info appreciated; wiped-out from working late all week on this project. Not at all my fellow new beetle member we are here to help each other out. I would get a digital meter and check continuity from chassis ground to both termninals. A starter is just like a big solenoid it needs a postive and a Negative (ground). which ever one of those posts is grounded to chassis will be your negative and the other will be the positve coming from the battery to make it engage. my two cents on this. good luck to ya.
