Arrow New project - Big Turbo Upgrade.. now with pics!

Hi all,
Some of saw my car at Waterfest or H2oi, I was only running a cutom K04, after a Wile 238WHP was not enough for me, so that's it, I buyed a T3/T4 , because 1.8TurboS did not whant to sell is turbo kit, so I got mine.

Specs of the turbo,
Turbonetics T3/T4
.60 TRIM
.48 COMPRESSOR
.60 TURBINE
Stage 3 wheel

Don't know what the numbers will look like, but hope something bigger then 238WHP

I will be using ATP turbo manifold, and cutom downPipe,
injectors: don't know yet 440 or 550, will see what the maps on the ecu are, and from there...
and to be safe aftermarket fuel pump.

Spearco Intercooler, and cutom Piping,

I will post some pics, as soon as I receive everything,

IS there some1 that is running something similar, so I can get an idea, of what the numbers should look like.

Thanks
Filipe

Theres probably a few guys that have done what you are doing with a NB, but there are MANY that have done it with swap cars and GTIs and Jettas..
The swap guys have no hangups about running hybrids and front mounts.
Depending on how hard you push the boost, I would think that 300 shouldnt be too hard to get out of it though.

thanks I know, I saw that on 20V, and on Vortex, but I also saw alot of GT28,71,..R, and a lot of issues with does, so I told my self, do something else, and I got a good deal on the turbo so that's about it. Will see what the numbers are soon, Hope it will not take weeks for my parts to arrive,

Always good to see people making some real power mods to our beetles... keep us updated! Did you go to a track with your k04 (1/4 or 1/8) ?? Just curious. My best was 14.7 @ 101 on street tires spinning madly

Yeah, I dont see the big hoo haa over the GT25's...Or is that 28? Idont know, you can see how much I care about them..
From what I understand they are smaller than a T3 housing(I know the mounting flange is).
To me, a straight large T3 or a T4E/T3 hybrid is the perfect turbo for street cars. If the GTs spool that much better I can see them making sense for someone who autox's or something where they are constantly letting off then accelerating. But if you want to do drags or your idea of a fun car is something that just makes you hang on for life while doing daily trips to the triple digits or higher double digits, a T3 or T4E/T3 is perfect.

well from a 60 trim u should see over 330 to the wheels... thats is if u find software that is even remotley good... on my turbo i would see boost around 4800 5000 rpm untuned... and that was a dbb t61 aka expescive gt30/40..... and im gussing your using a 38mm wastegate???
id go with 550cc incase u wanna dump more boost
fuel pump is manditory
make shure your atp manni isnt worped
software your on your own i was full standalone : )

Thanks for the info,
I will Use Unitronic Custom Software, Once everything is installed, we will get the car on the Dyno and install, the software,

That's correct I will use a 38mm wastegate,
For the injectors, Mike is loocking at the mapping of my ECU and he will tell wich one to use. because everyone knows that Beetle ECU are all potatos.

Hope that the car will be runnig good,

Wile I'm waithing for my parts, I got an N249 issue. I will look where this beast his and wILL change it. money to the garbage.

Sorry guys I was busy.

Here it goes, some more pics of some parts That I receive, The engine is not back in the car yet, because the V-band that was on the turbo is smaller then the one that ATP uses on their DownPipe, so I had to order, a brand new Steel - V-band Conversion - 5Bolt, and I will only receive it tomorow, so here is some pics of the ATP 3" down Pipe for MK4 Big turbo, and a Walbro 255L/H Inline Fuel pump, and my Custom Inlet Pipe.

Enjoy

Thanks

why did I pull the motor? because it's a beetle, no space under the hood, and I like to do things properly, so I guess this was my way. And also, because I was doing it at home, so no much space.

the difference beetwen 630cc and 440cc, with a big turbo setup is the how nicely the big injectors will pull the gas in the car. Because what happen when you use 440 with a big turbo, once the engine is hot, the fuel get's sprayed into the engine but not smoot. The thing is if you use your injectors at 75% or + they get hot, and the spray is not nice and smooth, so you should get bigger onces, that will work at 50%, and will never get as hot as the smaller onces, so the spray will stay nice and smooth. Also you can see a WHP increase.

Mike from Unitronic, was running 300WHP with is Turbo kit, he installed 6300cc and a Walbro fuel pump, and he tuned again the ECU, and he saw 18 WHP more,

BTW the engine is back in the car.
What's missing, Connecthing the CV joints, install the DownPipe, and it the road.
