Default timing belt question!

well, today while i was looking around under the hood, to see whats wrong with my car, cause it feels soo slow, i opened that black plastic that covers the timing belt, and i saw the timing belt with toothmarks all over it, what would the problem be?? and i can hear some noises coming from there, help me please

toothmarks!!!
what's the millage on your Bug?
Be carefull because if the timming belt goes, you potated!!!
and the noise the only that I can see is the Power steering

You seem to have lots of problems, you should bring it to VW.

Hectorallan, if you can't provide a picture to the forum super fast, I'd recommend driving straight to a dealership.

A picture, because what you're saying may be perfectly normal [timing belts ARE toothed after all], but if it's not normal you could be facing a catastrauphic failure.

well, my car has 60,000 miles, ill try to take a pic tomorrow, i might get the timing from ebay.

If so, your dampener/tensioner/roller assembly may be going bad allowing your timing belt to go slack, which is not a good thing. I would say drive as little as possible if at all until you get it fixed.

and if it's your hydrolic tensioner, you may want to not replace it and use this instead: Get rid of the hydraulic tensioner (timing belt)
