Secondary Air Pump....... Interchangeable?

Mine is about gone at 107,000 miles. Checking on prices, AWV engine code is $250+. APH is $485+ (p/n 06A959253). You can guess which one I have. They look the same and the online dealer said the only difference is the connector from the wire harness. Both part numbers are 2 conductor/pin (from what I was told) but the air flow and mounting is in question. I am all for modifying the wire harness if these things are interchangeable. Two snips and crimps and I'm done.

I am just amazed at the difference in price, especially when the insides are the same.

Please enlighten me.

I had the same problem with mine, and the more expensive one, unfortunately, differs not only in the electical connection, but also in the way that it mounts to your car. the cheaper one does not have the mounts on it that you need, but maybe you could rig something up?=) good luck!
