Make sure you hook up a vent tube to the outside of the car. You don't want to breathe what comes out of the battery.
Unless it's an optima sealed type battery, in which case there is no vent.

Interesting project, v-dubed.
Definitely looks like a PITA, but I'm sure it'll be worth it in the end... particularly since it's the only way you can get your intercooler in. Wouldn't it be cool if there was enough room for the battery under the rear seat bench... so it could be in the same position as the original Bugs ![]() |

Sweetness.
The clean car freak of me is telling me that you should vacuum the carpeting really good while everything is torn apart.

Next week my car is going to get an inverted intake (like the TT) so th eentrance to the manifold will be in the right. A big front mount intercooler will be there, I went to the shop today to find out how the heck they are going to do the plumbing etc with the battery in place.... Id let you know hwaht they dis because I think my battery will have to go elsewhere....
put more pics please just in case I have to copy your setup..thanks!!!

goofy question,
why can't you locate the battery on the passenger side and keep the cd changer? looks like the cables are generic type and they are plenty long enough. otherwise, keep up the good work man!
