Default Pro-Imports Equalizer K04 Turbo Kit

Has anyone in a New Beetle actually had this on their car? It consists of the K04-020 turbo and other hardware listed below.

The kit includes

K04-20 series Turbo
Exhaust manifold
Exhaust up-pipe
Oil & Water lines
Upper intercooler pipe
Lower intercooler pipe reducer
Samco Turbo inlet hose
3" MAF
380cc injectors
Hardware (nuts, bolts, gaskets etc)
Custom Revo Technik Stage 3 Software
Also, we will provide you with your choice of an adaptor to use any cold air intake you have in place or if you're still using the factory airbox a factory replacement air box that will accept the larger MAF. An engine code specific PCV hose and adaptor is also included


I was asking since there seems to be a relocation of the turbo on the golf platform and i'm sure that is also required on NB's as well. I'm stepping foot into the turbo upgrade market once again but have an automatic and would prefer to have a bit more hp than what I already have and maintain as much reliability as possible. Goals I would say i'd be happy with around 235-250whp.Don't know if i'd be able to achieve such wheel hp on an automatic with bolt ons+the kit.

Giac soon will sell their software for K04-20, so you might look into that as well. That's the kit I actually want to upgrade someday. Pretty good power and still drivable.

Yeah I was hearing about that. I have the APR chip right now but i'm unsure whether or not it would work with custom tuning along with the hardware. The custom tune would probably run as much as buying another chip. I'm curious about fitment as well and the necessary locations and procedures to make it work right on our cars specifically.

Hope the auto can hold it as well.

I have the compressor side of a K04-020 mated to my stock K03-053 impeller, which is a far milder upgrade than a full K04-020 and the need for a new exhaust manifold and downpipe, etc, but when the car was rechipped with Revo they uses a K04-020 map and tweaked it to fit (Stage 2 software has limited tuning for around $600).

Default No to k04 turbo with tiptronic

Checked with chris at apr. They do not have software for hooking up a k04 to a new beetle with tiptronic. The tiptronic
trans will not stand up to the added torque and the trans will
go downhill. Do not exceed 240 horsepower on your nb.

A stage onr apr chip, magnaflow catback and k & n cold air will give you roughly 225-235 horsepower! I have this set up in my 2004 gls convertible and the power gain is terrific!
