Default Upsolute Stage II - No Power

Hello everyone, I'm new to the whole TDI thing but anywho I have recently installed my stage II of the upsolute and the bigger injectors. I've noticed that during the day (i live in charlotte,NC) it's about 80-90 degrees and my car doesn't have the kick it has during the night 60-70 degrees. Why is this and how can i fix this. Also, my clutch has started to slip when shifted in a higher gear with full throttle. Am i missing out on power with the slipping clutch and what clutch is recomended?
Thanks Fellow TDIers!

Can't help you with the clutch, but the ambient temperature thing is basic physics. Cooler air is more dense which equals a bigger bang, hence more seat of the pants power. Also, turbos hate heat, and it usually degrades power, that's why I love the late nite grocery store runs. Just feels like a whole different car.

The power problem is heat soak, and can be helped with a bigger intercooler. A good first step would be to get a Turbo-S fender liner, and replace your passenger side fender liner with it. The Turbo-S fender liner has a flap that allows more air to pass through the intercooler. This will help a little in the hot part of the day.

Your clutch was never intended for the amount of power you are now producing. One of the "hot" setups is to use the VR6 clutch and the G60 lightened flywheel. Both are available from your VW dealer.
The Sachs part numbers that I have are:
Clutch 1862 393 031
pressure plate 3082 231 031
throwout bearing 04 3151 180 231
Sachs "kit" p/n K70038-02
Be aware, these part numbers may not show up in a VW parts computer.

The install depends on the local labor rate. Here in Cali, it can be from $500 to $800. Shop around for the parts, as the cost can vary. If you order online expect to pay in the neighborhood of $300. Your local VW dealer will be higher.
You will also need to buy a new set of stretch bolts to attach the flywheel and clutch/pressure plate. Do not reuse the old ones. A set of replacement bolts will run about $30.
A suggested vendor is www.dieselgeek.com Just give Jim a call, and he will be sure you get all the right parts. Also ask him about his metal skid pan. It will save your motor the next time you run over road junk.
