Default TDI mechanic in Ga, Savannah area

I need a belt change. Mechanic wants to charge 800 using MY parts for a belt change, water pump change, and oil change. I think that's too high. Haven't even called the dealer but I'm sure it's worse.

Anyone know of a mechanic near the Savannah area or the Jacksonville area or Charleston, SC area? I want to get this done before I start my WVO conversion.

Help would be appreciated.

Not fimiliar with that area, but you can always check out kudzu.com or just plain call around. Check VWVortex.com, too. $800 is WAY too high. Especially if you have the part. Don't get ripped, friend. Good luck!

I live in the Wash DC area and went to tdiracing to have it done for $300. I'm happy with the results. Looking here, this person seems recommended:

Goodluck.

Goodluck.

Get over to www.tdiclub.com and start looking for Gurus reasonably close to you. You do not want someone not very familar with TDI's doing this critical procedure (we're talking about the difference between a car running for 500,000 miles or blowing up in the next month after it's done). If the mechanic says he just does "mark and pray" - RUN ! You absolutely MUST have the proper lockdown tools and a computer to properly set the timing.
