Default First time Fuel Filter Change

I changed my fuel filter for the first time today and the job was much easier than I had expected. I used the Pela to prime the filter and it seemed to work just fine. On a short run to town, I had two occasions when the engine mis-fired. Would that have been from air bubbles that I didn't get out of the system?

Possibly.
See how it runs. Did you remember to replace the 2 O-rings that go on the thermostatic 'T'. That's the T that goes into the fuel filter. If they leak due to not being seated properly or being damaged, that will cause problems.

Talking First time Fuel Filter Change

Oh yes, I got those two replaced and in the right order.
The thing that amazed me was the speed that the Pela got the priming done. I had it in my head that there was going to be all sorts of problems. The car has not missed since those two times.
I get all of my knowledge from this place and the TDICLUB and I have found out that if an operation is presented as difficult, I will breeze right through it and if it is presented as easy, it will give me all sorts of grief.

Nice with the Pella! Good idea.
I bought the MityVac to do just this.
Speaking of sounding easy/proving hard, everyone was saying, "yeah, just prime it by filling with diesel, starts right up." BS! worked like total crap.
Sounds like that was all it was.
