Not to mention the other "costs" of fuel when the US has to import from abroad already over 60% of the petroleum it uses each day. So in a way, each time you fill up at a service station, unless you fill up with US produced ethanol or biodiesel, 60% percent of your money dissapears...

I'm trying to unmarry. Hopefully, all of it will reappear again.

I took a ~1100mi round trip this weekend and only used two fillups at a cheap truck stop along the route. I even brought an extra 5gallon jug. Saved me about another $12 to fill up there ($2.55/$2.56) rather than near my house ($2.89). Jeez, I'm such a cheap @ss.

So yesterday I modify my fuel spreadsheet to include a RUG / D2 price spread. Pretty sad indeed. Anyone bitching that RUG is expensive, stop your crying until it's 50 cents more than diesel cuz thats what we saw all winter here in the NE.

The black #'s are when D2 was more expensive and the red #'s are when RUG was higher. you will see that the red #'s are much lower than the black #'s on average.

Western burbs of Chicago: D2 $2.85, B11 $2.88, RUG $3.59.

What's the miles/dollar column? I would thinm the cheaper the fuel the more miles you would have.

Yeah, but it was still halting to see those prices posted at a name brand station. It was enough to give me pause...

There's no apostrophe before an 's' when you're talking about the plural version of a word. "I took some neat photo's!" is NOT correct.

It's just a simple calculation of total miles / total price of fillup. Varies depending on two factors, price of fuel and MPG of tank. Just a friendly reminder of how far a dollar goes

It's mostly 55-70 mph cruising with limited stops. Some around town driving, but mostly just my commute. I am no MPG addict, so I love a good romp now and then. I could easily do better, but why?
