Rough idle on deceleration

I am new here and just got a 1999 NB TDI that has 28,000 miles on it. I am loving the car but I notice that wheen I am coming to a stop the engine will idle rough until I come to a stop. I am not sure what would cause this but it seems as if when the car is coasting to a stop (manual trans) it will begin to idle rough around 10 to 5 mph until I come to a stop and rlease the brake, that is whenit will smoothe back out. I do not know if the brake plays into it (vacuum lines or something?) or if it is just coincidence. Does anyone here have an idea? Thanks.

its called slowdown shudder.

you need an IQ (fuel injection quantity)adjustment with VAG COM.

fill out your location,
then head to tdiclub
look for the who has VAG COM and where thread,
and get in contact with a couple of them.

its really not hurting anything, its just an annoyance. but you will want to get it taken care of as it feels funny to all who are inside the car with you.

My question is, where did you find a 99 TDI with only 28,000 miles. My 06 has 26,000.

Accounting Troll, I just got lucky. I saw it advertised and got to it before anyone else could. I imagin some stayed away because it is yellow. Never thought I would be driving a yellow car but I could not pass it up, it was in great shape and I needed something that was good on gas.

Did you get that down near DC? If that is the one, you bought it out from under me. LOL I called the guy told him I would call him back with a credit card for a down payment when I called back an hour later it was gone. But I am happy with the car I found. Congrats on the purchase hope it works well for you.
