The wires that go from the door post into the drivers door are in bad shape. It looks like the speaker, mirror heater, and door light wires are broken. We tried to solder them but the breaks are almost in the door post. Is it best to run new separate wires or look into a new factory set?

A new factory wire harness will have the correct wires that will just plug in to the correct places. But will cost a lot more. If you splice in your own wires, the cost is minimal. Just be sure to use stranded wire and not solid wires. Also make sure that the wires are of the proper gauge. The best solution is to take the inside door cover off so you can gain better access to the wires.

We slid the rubber grommet right into the door which allowed us more wire to solder. The wire we used was real close in gauge and things are working 100%. Thanks
