Well at 72k Herbie has started to leak from his water pump not bad yet just enough to get my attention.

Was wondering who has the best timing belt kit at the best price.

also was wondering if any one has the tools need for sale or barrow.

dieselgeek.com has a complete timing belt kit. You might want to give them a lookover. I've got to do the same, my 02 tdi has 83K.

I will second the kit sold by DieselGeek

http://www.dieselgeek.com/servlet/Detail?no=349

You can also get a kit from MetalMan. He is a little cheaper and he has a tool rental option.

http://www.metalmanparts.com/product...&productId=159

I would try to hook up with someone who:

1. Has the tools
2. Has Vag-Com
3. Has done a few TB.

Good luck.

mine was 325 from boraparts.com

If you want to do it yourself you should be able to rent the tools for $50

Ditto on the kit from Dieselgeek.com.
The water pump removal screws included in the kit are great and make that part of the job really easy.
If you intend to do the job yourself, make sure you have all the proper tools whether you rent them or purchase them.
