I have a 2000 tdi and I am getting a maf code I read on here that you can test this by un hooking it.. does it hurt to leave it un hooked till i get a new one I found one to replace it on ebay for around $60 with 1year guarntee

You can leave it unplugged. Your car will go into default mode and have around 80% power.

MAFs aren't really necessary for TDIs, i run mine unhooked to save fuel. There's a very, very slight decrease in power...not that it had any to begin with.
