speed sensor for transmission
Took to garage ,they put machine on it said that the speed sensor code read no signal. It want's to start out in 2nd and then I have no overdrive. I can shift it manually, it has 1st, 2nd and 3rd but no overdrive.Can I change the sensor? Were would it be , is it on the out side of motor or transmission?What does it look like?They told me 2 1/2 hour's to change.I checked at part's house only about $50.00.Thank's for any help.Rick

Depends which sensor:
01m - TDIClub Forums What was the code? If it is the G68 sensor, the mount has to come off the transmission. The bolts that hold the mount to the transmission, and the other mounting bolts are all one-time use stretch bolts and will have to be replaced.
